Underage Drinking

In collaboration with the St. Joseph County Underage Drinking Taskforce and through the STOP (Sober Truth on Preventing) Underage Drinking federal grant, the DFCC and its partners strive to reduce underage drinking and the harms associated with alcohol use and abuse.

STOP Grant activities include:

• Initiate and support alcohol compliance enforcement in St. Joseph County through the SUDS (Stop Underage Drinking and Sales) Taskforce through St. Joseph County Police.
• Provide materials and tips for alcohol licensees on checking ID, refusing sale and developing policies and procedures for employees.
• Expand the St. Joseph County Underage Drinking Taskforce and its membership.
• Expand training opportunities for taskforce members and various community sectors involved in reducing underage drinking.
• Explore and implement environmental strategies to reduce underage drinking.
